German Bosch invests 31 billion won

Busan factory to start operation June next year, creating 300 new jobs

Busan City succeeded in getting Bosch Rexroth AG, a German global group, to invest 31 billion won ($27.1 million) in Busan. Bosch Rexroth Korea founded in 2001, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bosch Rexroth AG, and Busan City had a groundbreaking ceremony for its Busan factory on June 27.


Busan City will lease 44,379-square-meter (477,691-square-foot) area in Mieum Parts Industrial Complex of Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone to construct a Busan factory with 31 billion won. The Busan factory will have an office building for headquarters, manufacturing factory for its industrial and oil pressure machinery and a warehouse.


From design to construction, all the process will be handled according to the safety guideline of headquarters in Germany and is aiming to move in to the new factory by June 2013 and supply its produced goods to Hyundai Heavy Industries, STX Metal and Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction. Once the Busan factory is operating full on track, it is expected to create 300 jobs by 2017.


Bosch Rexroth AG has longer than 200-year history and has a production facility and sales network in 80 countries. As of end of 2011, its yearly sales was 51.5  billion Euro (77 trillion won) and 302,500 employees work for this group.
